Marin Catholic Shooting For NCS Basketball Crown

Around Town Feb. 21-22: Wildcat boys and girls teams open the playoffs at home on Wednesday.

 

• The second-seeded Marin Catholic boys (21-6) host No. 15 Healdsburg (13-14) in Wednesday's first round of the North Coast Section Division 4 basketball playoffs. Tipoff is at 8 p.m.

• The Marin Catholic girls ripped through the competition during the Marin County Athletic League schedule, and now the Wildcats (20-5) face real stiff competition in the North Coast Section Division 4 basketball playoffs. The fifth-seeded Wildcats host No. 12 Cardinal Newman (13-14) on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

• Check out the new additions to the Corte Madera farmers market on Wednesday, noon-5 p.m., at the Town Center. New vendors are selling local meats, cheeses and fish.

• Thomas Christensen turns history into a grand epic show with his novel 1616: The World in Motion. Christensen will appear at Book Passage in Corte Madera on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. to offer a tour of the events of 1616 that shaped global history

• Mother Goose is on the loose at the Corte Madera Library every Tuesday at 10 a.m. for storytime for babies 0-24 months old, with a parent or caregiver.

• The Larkspur Library presents Baby Bounce Storytime every Tuesday, from 9:30-10 a.m. The free program is designed for children ages 6-24 months and their parents and caregivers. For details, call 415-927-5005.
