Police Chase Bike Thieves Across Bridge

Stolen bicycles are recovered after an early-morning chase that began at Larkspur Landing ends in a car crash in Richmond.

Four bicycles stolen from an apartment complex in the Larkspur Landing area were recovered after a police pursuit across the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge early this morning, Twin Cities police said.

Police Cpl. Sean Kerr saw a blue Nissan pickup with several bicycles in its open truck bed turn left from Larkspur Landing Circle onto eastbound Sir Francis Drake Boulevard around 3:30 a.m.

Because of recent bicycle thefts, Kerr checked the pickup's records and learned that it had recently been stolen in Richmond, police said.
