A power outage that began this morning has caused the cancellation of classes at the College of Marin in Kentfield, school officials said.
The outage began at 6 a.m. when a large tree branch fell onto a power line, cutting power to more than 560 PG&E customers, utility spokeswoman Brittany McKannay said.
A crew was at the scene and had partially restored service by 2 p.m., but roughly 100 customers — including the College of Marin — were still without power, McKannay said.
All morning and afternoon classes were canceled, and school officials later anounced evening classes would also be canceled.
"Faculty will work with each of their classes to determine a plan for making up the work," school spokeswoman Cathy Summa-Wolfe said.
