Redwood Students Cited For Cyber-Bullying, Possession Of Explosive Device

Twin Cities Police Log: Sept. 21-27

• Pursuant to an investigation regarding “cyber-bullying” at Redwood High School, the Twin Cities Police School Resource Officer arrested three students at Redwood High. A juvenile Kentfield male was cited and released to a parent at the school for cyber-bullying. A juvenile Greenbrae male was cited and released to his parents for cyber bullying, conspiracy and possession of a explosive/destructive device. He reportedly was preparing a dry ice bomb. A juvenile Greenbrae male was arrested for conspiracy and released on a citation after contact with parents.

• A resident in the 800 block of Via Casitas reported that his neighbor was outside, extremely intoxicated, and screaming she couldn't find her baby. Due to the level of intoxication, it initially proved difficult to obtain any information. Upon further investigation, it was determined the father of the child had dropped her off at her grandparents house. A Greenbrae woman was arrested for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place and booked into the Marin County Jail.

• A resident of the 200 block of Via Casitas reported that his 15-year-old daughter wants to run away. He reported that he caught her trying to cut the screen in her room. When she was confronted by her 14-year-old sister she threatened to stab her with the scissors. A juvenile Greenbrae female was arrested for Criminal Threats and booked into Juvenile Hall.

• A business in the 30 block of Industrial way reported that a rock was thrown through a window to the front of the building sometime during the night. Documentation was provided for the vandalism.

• A resident of the 1300 block of South Eliseo Drive reported that her bicycle, an orange Santa Cruz Blur women’s 21 speed Mountain bike, with a butterfly on the seat, was stolen. The amount of the loss is not known at this time. Documentation was provided for the theft.

• A San Francisco resident reported that while his vehicle was parked and locked in a lot at the Village Shopping Center, it was entered via the driver side window being pushed down. Taken was a Fastrak transponder. It also appeared that there was an attempt to steal the vehicle. An Auto Burglary report was taken to document the incident.

• A resident of the 30 block of Chickasaw Court reported last night the bank advised him of fraudulent charges on his Bank of America credit card for an approximate $400 loss. The charges occurred in Maui, South America, and Arizona. An Identity Theft report was taken for documentation; to be forwarded to the appropriate jurisdictions were the frauds occurred for possible follow-up.

• A resident of the 20 block of Sunnyside Avenue reported that her home was entered via unknown means. Taken was jewelry, silver candle sticks along with several other items. Total amount of the loss is not known at this time. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

• A Novato resident reported that while his vehicle was parked and locked in the lot at the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal, it was entered via the driver's side door which he found ajar. The stereo, valued at approximately $300, was taken. An Auto Burglary report was taken to document the theft.

• Another Novato resident also reported that while his vehicle was parked and locked at the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal parking lot, it was entered via unknown means. Taken was a portable radio belonging to the Federal Parks Service in Yosemite, an iPod, iPod charger and an iPod adaptor, for a loss of $5,280. An Auto Burglary report was taken for documentation.

• Pursuant to a traffic stop in the 60 block of Madera Boulevard, a Twin Cities Police Officer arrested a Corte Madera man for Violation of Probation and Possession of Stolen Property. He was booked at the Marin County Jail. A complaint will also be forwarded to the Marin County District Attorney’s Office for Driving with False Registration Tabs, and Driving on a Suspended License.

• Pursuant to being contacted by a Twin Cities Police Officer in an occupied vehicle in the area of the Denny’s Restaurant in the 5800 block of Paradise Drive, a Novato female was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine. She was booked into the Marin County Jail.

• A resident of the 700 block of South Eliseo Drive reported that her vehicle has been egged several times over the last two days. The vandalism was documented and extra patrol will be provided.

• Twin Cities Police Units responded to a report of a loud juvenile party in the 130 block of Birch Avenue. As the units arrived several juveniles ran out the back of the residence, jumped the fence onto the William Avenue bike path. Several juvenile subjects were contacted at the residence in possession of or consuming alcohol. A juvenile Corte Madera male was issued a Notice of Violation for the Corte Madera Social Host Ordinance. Contact was made with a parent who was out of town.

• Pursuant to being contacted on a traffic stop in the 70 block of Tamal Vista Boulevard, some of the passengers in the vehicle were determined to have consumed alcohol and were connected to the above mentioned juvenile party. Parent's were contacted and responded to the scene to pick up the juveniles.

• A resident of the 30 block of San Clemente Drive reported that she was assaulted by her boyfriend at their residence and that he had left the residence on foot. The area was checked for the involved subject with negative results. The subject refused medical treatment and a report was taken for Domestic Battery, with possible follow-up with the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.

• A Loss Prevention Agent for Nordstrom, located in the Village Shopping Center, reported that a male subject took a watch and left through the mall area and then took off running into the marsh area out from the gravel lot. A Twin Cities Police Officer located the subject. A Mill Valley man was arrested for Shoplifting and Violation of Probation. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.

• An Oakland resident reported that while she was at work and her vehicle was parked in the 1200 block of South Eliseo Drive, her vehicle was keyed. The vandalism was unwitnessed. Documentation was provided.

• A resident of the 60 block of Creekview Circle reported that he responded to an e-mail requesting secret shoppers. As a result, he has cashed approximately $1,800 in fraudulent money orders. A Fraud report was taken for documentation.

• Pursuant to being contacted by the Twin Cities Police SRO at Redwood High School, a juvenile Greenbrae male was arrested and released on a citation to his guardian for Possession of a Destructive/Explosive Device.

• Twin Cities Police responded to the area of the Subway restaurant in the Bon Air Shopping Center pursuant to a 911 call by a subject reporting he was going to buy Bacardi rum when he was hit in the face by a male subject who then took his $75, got into a vehicle with two other juveniles, last seen headed toward the freeway. He reported that two of the subjects were known to him. After interviewing the subject, it was determined no Strong Armed Robbery had occurred; he actually gave the subjects the money. A Kentfield man was arrested for an outstanding Warrant held by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Marin County Jail.

• A resident of the 10 block of Taylor Lane reported that she discovered fraudulent activity in her checking account where someone used her debit card number at a Sak's 5th Avenue. The total loss is $3,178. An Identity Theft report was taken and there is follow-up pending.

• A resident in the 2100 block of Redwood Highway reported that she received approximately five to six calls over the last three days requesting "Tax Money." She reported that the same caller advised she won money from the President and needed to send a small down payment. She reported that she knows this is a scam and did not send any money. Advice was given.

During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 358 calls for service. This included six calls related to accidents with minor injuries and five property damage only accidents. There were three auto burglaries and one residential burglary. There was one call related to Driving while Intoxicated, however, this did not result in any arrests.
