Report of coyote attack on pet dog; Redwood High students caught with alcohol at school dance

A caller reported that early in the morning, when her mother, who lives in the 400 block of Montecito Drive was walking her dog on a nearby bike path, it was attacked by a coyote. Advice was given and she was referred to the Marin Humane Society.

After being contacted at a dance at Redwood High School, a Tiburon juvenile female was arrested for Possession of Alcohol on School Grounds. She was issued a citation and released to a parent. At the same dance, a Kentfield juvenile male was arrested for Possession of Alcohol on School Grounds and released to a guardian on a citation. Another student at the dance, a Greenbrae male, was detained for being Intoxicated in a Public Place. The incident was handled by the school.

A Twin Cities Police Officer was contacted by a taxi driver in the 2000 block of Redwood Highway regarding an intoxicated subject who was sleeping in the back of his cab. A San Rafael man was arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place and booked into the Marin County Jail.

A resident in the 400 block of Corte Madera Avenue reported that two bicycles, a men's racing style59cm LeMond Maillot Jaune, valued at $5,000 and a men's 49cm racing style LeMond Chanberry, valued at $2,000, were stolen from his garage. A Residential Burglary report was taken.

While on patrol in the 400 block of Magnolia Avenue, a TCPD Officer located an occupied vehicle and contacted a Larkspur man and woman. They were warned for Possession of Marijuana in a Vehicle. The Marijuana was confiscated for destruction.

A Tucson, AZ, resident reported that while his vehicle was parked in the area of the Mollie Stone’s Market in the Bon Air Shopping Center, his yellow men's Cannondale R500 bicycle, valued at $1,500, was stolen from the back of his vehicle. A Grand Theft report was taken for documentation.

Pursuant to a traffic stop in the 200 block of Tamalpais Drive, a Greenbrae juvenile female was arrested for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Possession of a Fictitious Government Identification. She was issued a citation and released to a parent. A Larkspur juvenile female was arrested for Possession of Marijuana in a Vehicle. She was issued a citation and released at the scene after contact with a parent.

A Corte Madera woman reported the theft of her wallet from her purse while she was shopping in a store in the Corte Madera Town Center. She also reported that her credit cards had been subsequently used to make purchases at two stores in the Village Shopping Center. A report was taken and there is further investigation pending.

A store in the Village Shopping Center reported that two handbags and a wallet had been taken for a loss of $895. Documentation for the theft was provided.

Officers responded to the area of the 400 block of South Eliseo for a report of a woman that was unresponsive and slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle. A Redding woman was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. She was booked at the Marin County Jail.

A resident in the 200 block of Prince Royal Drive reported that her home had been “egged” for the second time in a week. Documentation for the vandalism and extra patrols were provided.

A Novato resident reported that while his vehicle had been parked in the parking lot of the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal, the passenger side window was broken. Taken were a bag full of clothes, neck ties, and a Fast Trak transponder for an approximate loss of $300.

Pursuant to a traffic stop on northbound U.S. 101 in the area of the Tamalpais Drive off-ramp a Novato man was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. He was booked at into the Marin County Jail.

An employee of a business in the 5700 block of Paradise Drive reported that when he arrived, there was a man inside a vehicle who said he was waiting for "Bill". There were items lying on the ground next to the vehicle. When he returned to his vehicle, he noticed a chop saw had been taken out of it anddropped nearby. The vehicle the subject had been in was found unoccupied with the back window brokenand the inside ransacked. An Auto Burglary report was taken.

A resident in the 10 block of Echo Ave. reported that she had just found the doors to a storage shed in her yard standing open. Inside the shed was a shirt that does not belong to anyone at the residence. It was unknown if anything was missing at the time of report. A Burglary report was taken and there is follow-up pending.

A Corte Madera resident reported that while his vehicle was parked at a business in the 5700 block of Paradise Drive, it was entered and the stereo and a pair of sunglasses were taken for an approximate loss of $250. An employee of the business witnessed a person inside the vehicle. An Auto Burglary report was taken and there is possible follow-up pending.

A Petaluma resident reported that while his vehicle was parked in the 60 block of Industrial Way, someone entered the vehicle and stole miscellaneous change from the glove box. Documentation of the theft was provided.

The San Francisco Police Department reported they had located a vehicle reported as stolen to TCPD on August 14, 2011, from the area of the 500 building of Old Quarry Road North. There was no one in custody. The owner of the vehicle was notified and it was removed from the Stolen Vehicle System.

While on patrol, a TCPD Officer located numerous pieces of mail that was stolen from the 70 through 100 block of Via La Paz, the 50 block of Corte Cayuga and the 100 block of Via Casitas. The residents where the mail was taken from were contacted. A Theft report was taken and there is follow-up pending.

A resident in the 20 block of Creekside Drive reported that his credit card number has been used to make purchases, but that he still has the credit card. A Fraud and Identity Theft report was taken and there is additional investigation pending.

A Fairfax resident reported that while his vehicle was parked in the area of Trader Joe’s in the Cost Plus Plaza, his unlocked 27 speed Specialized Works mountain bike was taken from the bike rack. Exact amount of the loss was unknown at the time of report. Documentation for the theft was provided.

A resident of the 20 block of Corte Oriental reported that someone took his Fast Trak transponder from his vehicle by reaching in through the open window of his vehicle while it was parked in the area of his residence. Documentation of the theft was provided.

During this one week time period, the Twin Cities Police Department had 295 calls for service. This included 1 call related to a hit and run accident and four property damage only accidents. There were three auto burglaries, one commercial burglary and two residential burglaries. There were two calls related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in two arrests.
