Twin Cities Police Log: March 30-April 5

Woman suffers minor injuries during rollover on Drake.

• Linda Snodgrass of Ross was taken to Marin General Hospital with minor injuries on Tuesday afternoon after her car crashed into a streetlight and flipped over. At about 3:15 p.m., Snodgrass was traveling east at 30-35 mph on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard just east of Bon Air Road. "Distracted with recent tragic personal affairs," Snodgrass allowed her vehicle to drift off the roadway onto the right shoulder where the vehicle struck a streetlight. As the vehicle pushed the streetlight over, the vehicle traveled partially up the pole and rolled onto its roof, partially blocking the road. The lanes were partially blocked until approximately 5 p.m. while the vehicle
was righted and removed from the roadway.

• The Twin Cities PoliceDepartment School Resource Officer took a report of an assault by two Henry C. Hall Middle School students on another Hall Middle School student. While on the bus on the way to school, the two involved students punched the other student.

A Bayside man reported that while his vehicle was parked, locked, in the parking lot of the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal, it was broken into via unknown means. Taken were luggage and the vehicle’s stereo system. The loss was estimated at $3000.

• A Greenbrae resident, who is a student at Redwood High School, reported that her iPhone was taken while she was at school. The case for the phone was later located, but the phone is still missing. A report was taken and investigation is pending. Loss was estimated at $300.

• A Greenbrae resident reported that while her vehicle was parked in the area of the Safeway Store in the Corte Madera Town Center, it was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. The accident was not witnessed and there are no leads. Documentation was provided.

• Officers responded to a report of an unattended child left in a vehicle to the rear of the Nordstrom store in the Village Shopping Center. The vehicle was located and the Officer stood by with the child until the mother, a Novato woman, returned. A citation was issued for leaving an unattended child in a vehicle.

• A resident in the 900 block of Meadowsweet Drive reported that his business vehicle, a tow truck, had a window shot out while it was parked in the area of his residence. This has also occurred on several previous occasions. A report was taken for documentation.

• A resident in the 900 block of Magnolia Avenue reported that her daughter’s bicycle, a Giant brand Raptor mountain bike, valued at approximately $675, had been stolen from the porch area of the residence on the previous date. The lock had been cut to take the bicycle. A report was taken for documentation.

• A caller reported the window on the front door of a doctor’s office in the 1300 block of South Eliseo Drive was shattered. Officers responded and determined that a commercial burglary had taken place. Loss is still being determined and an investigation is in progress.

• A Tiburon resident reported that while it was parked in a lot of the Corte Madera Town Center, her vehicle was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. A witness provided information on the involved vehicle to her, however, it was determined that the license plate number was incorrect. Documentation was provided.

• A Greenbrae resident, who is a student at Redwood High School, reported that his iPod Touch, a cell phone and cash were taken while he was at school. Total loss is approximately $740.

• Via the TCPD School Resource Officer, two students at Redwood High School were reported to be under the influence of narcotics. The students were checked by the SRO and it was determined that only one of them, a female Tiburon resident, was under the influence. The juvenile was turned over to their parent and the matter was handled by the school.

• A Kentfield resident, who is a student at Redwood High School, reported that over the last several months, his bicycle has been repeatedly vandalized at the school by several subjects. Interviews were conducted by the TCPD School Resource Officer. A Tiburon juvenile male was arrested for the vandalism and released to his parents.

• The manager of an apartment building in the 400 block of Via Hidalgo reported that two vehicles had pulled up to the building and now the occupants were standing near the vehicles, smoking out of a “bong." Three subjects were contacted, two Novato men and a Ross woman. They were reprimanded and released and a small amount of Marijuana was destroyed.

• 24 Hour Fitness, in the Marin Country Mart shopping center, reported that a subject had been sleeping on the floor in the business for approximately two hours and when they asked him to leave; he went into the men’s locker room and is now refusing to leave. Officers contacted the subject and he was escorted from the business and issued a trespass notice.

• An employee at the Twin Cities Children’s Center, located in Corte Madera Town Park, reported that there was a suspicious older man, described as a white male in his 60’s, with white hair and wearing a beret, taking pictures of the children. When he picked up his phone to call, he said the man left, “in a hurry”, in a black Mercedes SUV type vehicle. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle or subject in the area.

• Officers responded to the area of Paradise Wine and Spirits, 5641 Paradise Drive, for a report of an older man who appeared to be intoxicated hanging on to the fence there for at least 40 minutes. A Russian citizen was contacted and arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• CHP reported a non-injury accident in the area of the Melting Pot restaurant, 125 East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

• During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 339 calls for service. This included four property damage only accidents and three hit-and-run accidents. There was one auto burglary, two commercial burglaries. There were no calls related to Driving while Intoxicated.
